Korea Maritime & Ocean University holds Graduation Ceremony for the 2022 School Year


Graduates received their degrees on the 26th in the auditorium...

The 75th class produced 426 graduates.


On the 26th, Dean Kim Jin-kwon of The College of Maritime Affairs, Korea Maritime & Ocean University, held an early graduation ceremony for the 2022 school year at the auditorium. The graduation ceremony was the first of all bachelor’s degree ceremonies across the country in 2022.


Many officials attended the ceremony, including Korea Maritime & Ocean University President Doh Deog-hee, as well as faculty members, students, and honorary professors.


Various events marked the occasion, commencing with the opening ceremony, followed by congratulatory speeches from the President, guests, and parents; awarding of degrees; singing school songs and throwing caps; and the closing ceremony. Following the conclusion of the degree ceremony, awards were presented to outstanding graduates in the seminar room of the new university building.


In total, 426 marine college students graduated, with 72 graduating from the Department of Maritime Transport Science ▲ 54 from the Department of Institutional Systems Engineering ▲ 76 from the Department of Maritime Engineering ▲ 57 from the Department of Marine Engineering ▲ 33 from the Department of Marine Plant Operation ▲ 49 from the Department of Maritime IT Engineering ▲ 54 from the Department of Maritime Global.


Graduates of Korea Maritime & Ocean University’s Maritime College, who have completed a marine specialized curriculum that includes boarding training courses, will board a merchant ship after graduation to gain practical experience and contribute to the development of the nation’s shipping and maritime industries.


“The shipping, shipbuilding, and marine industries, which have global marketability, account for a significant portion of Korea’s total exports,” said Doh Deog-hee, President of Korea Maritime & Ocean University. “Korea Maritime & Ocean University, which has a diverse range of departments in the overall marine industry ecosystem, has strengths,” he added. “We support graduates who have successfully completed their studies at Korea Maritime & Ocean University, which will forever be their alma mater.”
