The Office of International Affairs (Director: Kim Jung-Hoon) held a “Lunar New Year Traditional Games Experience Event” for international students on January 13 in celebration of Seollal, Korea’s most significant traditional holiday.
Now in its second year, the event was designed to offer international students spending the holiday away from their home countries an opportunity to experience Korean traditional holiday cuisine and folk games. Through this program, the University sought to enhance students’ sense of belonging and further enrich their overall study-abroad experience.
Participants engaged in a variety of traditional activities, including trying on hanbok, playing yutnori and experiencing yutjeom, tuho, and jegichagi. The event also provided a valuable platform for international students to foster friendships and strengthen mutual bonds while gaining a deeper understanding of Korean culture.
Director Kim Jung-Hoon stated, “We hope this event brought warmth and joy to international students who are celebrating the holiday far from their hometowns,” adding, “The Office of International Affairs will continue to expand comprehensive support initiatives to help international students successfully integrate into both the University community and Korean society.”
The Office of International Affairs has consistently operated diverse cultural experience programs and tailored support services to assist international students in adjusting to life in Korea. Moving forward, the Office remains committed to cultivating an environment where international students can thrive academically and pursue their aspirations with confidence.”
